What happened to the rest of Week 7? I skipped it. I'm doing a 5k on March 7 and if I do the program as written, I'll only have run 30 minutes by the time the 5k rolls around. I decided to see if I could run 28 minutes. I thought that I would be able to. And I did! I had to stop my watch for 1 minute while I took my long sleeved shirt off. I was hot! But I did run for the full 28 minutes. Again, Hazel slowed down on the second half, slower than I would have liked, but oh well. Maybe I wouldn't have been able to finish if she hadn't. Hopefully she will build up speed. At least she is going for 28 minutes and not just laying down in protest.
I am happy. Next week I'll try for 31 minutes and then the week of my 5k I'll do 34. At least that is the plan. I only recorded the actual run part. That is why the distance, calories and time are less than normal. And I'm sure the distance is a little off. Mary still hasn't gotten with me to calibrate.
Time: 28.03
Distance: 2.3
Average HR: 176
Max HR: 193

You're happy! I love it. I think it's great you pushed out your time bc now you know you can do it. And I'm glad Hazel is slowing you down. I talked to her about that; we're in cahoots. ;) Your mileage, to me, looks about right for 28 minutes. Like a good steady appropriate pace.
Hazel heard Bob on Biggest Loser say the biggest mistake beginning runners make is trying to run too fast. She's helping.
I was available for calibration all weekend! You have to figure out your buttons.
